At Republican Election HQ at the Vista Restaurant a capacity crowd
heard from the candidates who were jubilant about their victory.
Supervisor Phil Barrett’s election victory is his 7th and.he is the
longest serving town supervisor in Clifton Park history.
“It’s rewarding to receive this kind of overwhelming support from
the people of Clifton Park,” Barrett said. “It’s humbling. I’m proud
of the work we’ve done in the last 12 years. I give 100 percent all
the time. They’ll be no change. We’ll go back to work tomorrow to
meet and exceed the expectations of the people we serve.”
James Whalen was elected to his first term on the Town Board and
said “It feels great, my wife and I chose to live in Clifton Park
and it’s a great opportunity to give something back and continue the
great work that the supervisor and the board have done. It’s an
honor to serve on a board with them.”
Councilman Scott Hughes celebrated his 2nd Victory and said “I love
Clifton Park and it’s an honor to represent the people of this
community. Our positive message to voters focused on results
in three areas, rock solid finances with no town tax and zero debt,
open space preservation and new trails, and a reputation for open,
transparent government that is accountable.”

Clifton Park Residents meet Our Candidates at standing room only
Rally on Friday.

A packed house at the Edison Club in Rexford attended a Rally to support Republican Candidates on Friday 10/21. Congressman Chris Gibson was on hand to rally the troops to go out and support the great slate of candidates. CP GOP Chairman reminded that in the Supreme Court race we need to "Vote for 3" - all 3 of the Republican / Conservative Supreme Court candidates - Justice John Lahtinen, Ann Crowell and Bob Chauvin. All the candidates had the opportunity to address the crowd including challenged candidates - Supervisor Phil Barrett, Town Councilman Scott Hughes, Town Board Candidate James Whalen and Town Justice Candidate Joe Berger.
Unchallenged candidates were Surrogates Court Candidate Rich Kupferman, Town Clerk Pat O'Donnell, Highway Superintendent Rick Kukuk and County Supervisor Anita Daly. All were recognized for their hard work and high qualifications which warded off challengers for their offices.
